Wow Boy was It Hot Out There..Never Got To PreFish For The Tournament Due to A Spider Bite so We Got Out There And Fished. we Pulled Up On Our First Spot And Like 2nd Cast Had A Bout A 2 1/2 Lb Up to The Boat And The Line Snaped Which Is Not A Good Way To Start Out The Day. We Went On To Catch 4 In a Bout In Hr. Went To The Lower End To Finish Out Our Small Limit. Rest Of The Day We Went On To Catch Bout 14 But None With No Size. Deer Point Has really Tookin A Toll This Year, But Is Still Producing....

Yes it was hot, but to me not quite as hot as it has been except for the last couple hours. Around 11:00 we only had one keeper. So I decided to go flippin for the rest of the day no matter what. And that decesion payed off. Using a 1.25oz bullet weight and a creature bait, went and found the thickest stuff I could find close to deep water. I the first pass caught a decent keeper. Went to another similiar spot and in the first pass caught two and had one come off, including a 4.25 pounder. Waited about an hour and went to where I had missed that one, flipped in there and got him. That made a limit. On the way in told Dave we got time to go to one spot and make a few cast. On Daves first he put a 2.5 pounder in the boat. We took 2nd with 11.47 lbs. Drew Benton and Andrew Smith took the win with 12.9 lbs.
