We had about 30 boaters and only 4 non-boaters at the Federation Nation Qualifier. The river system has been very tough this year and this tournament was no exception. Carmen McLemore said before the tournament that he would not be surprised that in the near future 7 or 8 lbs would be winning tournaments. In the past 4 tournaments that I have been in that Carmen was in, he has only had one limit. And that in itself in un-believable. He only had 4 this tournament. The good thing about it is that with it being this tough, anyone can win. Carmen's prediction on the weights almost came true. Bobby smith took the win with 9+ lbs for (I believe $800) and 7 lbs got you a check. I'll bet I caught 25 - 30 bass with my best five weighing in at 4.92 lbs. Yes I said 5.
