Fished last weekend as a guest with Bay Co. Bass Club at Ocheesee Pond in Grand Ridge out of the back of Al Ramsey's boat. I was really looking forward to it even though several of their club members had been there the previous week and said, it's not going to be good. I was basing my opinion on 20 years ago when I used to go all the time and catch plenty of them. It's a 2,200 acre cypress swap that is the fishyist looking place you'll ever see in your life. You think you should catch one on every cast. I remember one day with my dad he had two over 9 lbs. So by now they should be world records. Sam Fifer said he had one back then that weighed 16 lbs. But with our big bass boats you're limited to where you can fish. --------- Now let's just say it will probably be another 20 years before I go back. My two whoppers (12" ea) weighed a total of 1.5 lbs. Al Ramsey came in second with 4 giants that weight 4 plus lbs. Sam (Whacky) Fifer took the win with the only limit that weighed 9 plus lbs and lunker at 4.5 lbs. Deerpoint has never looked so good!!! See ya there!
