Let me start off by saying that I got a wild hair and decided to go to Dead Lakes last week.We did catch a couple flippin worms but not much size to them at all. That body of water has really been down the last couple of years.I hope it picks up sooner than later. That used to be the one spot I would go to if I needed a big bass fix. All the big lakes have been producing well though. We caught about 20 NICE bass at Seminole the other day.Had a 3lb plus grab the buzzbait when I actually pulled the buzzbait out of the water to make another cast and I just kinda flipped him in the boat.Had numerous 3-6lbs.Eufaula is still producing well on the deepwater bite, and early on topwater. All in all great year for fishing.

I don't know why other people have not been posting some of their fishing reports, good or bad. I used to do it every week but thought I would stop a bit and see if others would. Come on guy's this forum is for everyone. We have plenty of people signed up. Anyway, had our Bay Co. Bass Club Tourny at Seminole this past wekkend. Seminole has been good for a long time now. I have not been in a couple months and just went fishing. I probably caught a couple limits but just no size. Did catch a 4.5 pounder flipping in crap about 2 ft deep (1.25 oz weight). The main area I was in, the bass came up schooling several times. But thet were just small keepers. I took 4th with 11.13 lbs. Al Ramsey and his partner took 1st and 2nd. Al said he found a grass spot that was loaded. He had almost 20 lbs and David Menchew had 16+. Where the grass was at Seminole is not there anymore. I could not find any. Take care!

We went to Deer Point yesterday july 12th and did not catch the first fish. The water was real muddy and we fished around the bay head landing.

I went to Gap pond yesterday for the second time in the past two weeks. It was still really high and as dark as black coffee. I have never seen gap like that and from the stories that I have heard neither have alot of people. Both trips to gap have been terrible and we only caught one fish each time. You can stick your hand in the water and you can no longer see it after about a foot. Does anybody know whats wrong with gap.

Gap will clear up as this happens to most all of the Sandhill lakes after some good healthy rains ... It is more noticeable on the Pine Log Lakes as there is more runoff.

I have seen this happen over the years to most all of them.

Never found a good way to catch them under these conditions xcept early & late on top water.

Have a good one

Bay Co. Bass Club had their tournament their a couple of months ago and the water was dark then as well. I had never seen it like that either. But the Jack fish seemed to like it. I threw a Horny Toad most of the day and the Jack ate it up. Statred out the day catching a 2 1/2 pounder real quick and though it was going to be a good day. 6 hours late still had that one bass but all the sudden, either I ran accross them or they just started biting but in an hours time had my limit and my non-boater got 4. We took 1st and 2nd with 8 lbs and 4 lbs. Keep throwing that Horny Toad, eventually they will bit it (no matter where you're at).

Fished Seminole today and early on bass bit fair. Caught a 6lb+ bass on spinnerbait then a large perch on spinnerbait in back waters. Decided to run up the Flint and flip a little and had a big one break me off in a tree. Then fishing slowed to a hault.Tried last spot in Flint before heading in and the rain came. As soon as the rain hit the bass went to biting topwater caught 2 big ones on frogs and a couple on buzzbait. As soon as the rain quit the bite turned off like a light switch.Nothing red hot but still better than cuttin the grass!

Me and Al Ramsey went to Seminole Saturday along with another boat and both boats would have had close to 20 lbs each. Nothing big, just good ones. We also got into them schooling. If you reeled your rattle trap in fast you would catch Strippers, but if you let your trap fall and fished it slow on the bottom you would catch largemouth and plebty of them. It was fun! Wanted to leave around noon but it ended being more like 3:00. Can't leave if they are biting.

In what area did you catch the stripers? I have been fishing Seminole consistently for the past year and havent got into them yet. I heard near the dam. Around the rip rap? If you dont want to answer I understand. Jeff

These were out in the middle of the lake on the Seminole Lodge side. Last year me and Allen Duke got into a bunch of them schooling at the end of the Flint River. On that day there were hundreds schooling at the same time. It was fun.
