Has anybody been to the river to fish lately. I'm going to my family's camp there on Byrd Parker Dr. for the first time this year and was thinking about doing some bass fishing if it is worth my time. Where do I need to go? Chipola Cut, Dead Lakes, up river, down river. What should i throw? Senkos, rattle traps, crank baits, top water, or flippin. Any suggestions would be helpful. Was also thinking about taking the long run up to the chipola where it comes into the dead lakes. Does anybody know time wise how far it is to where the chipola turns clear and cold like econfina from end of the road. (35 MPH).

Wished I could help but I have not been up the river in a while. They are biting in the flats but on the small side. Maybe someone will be able to help.

The fishing in the river was very slow this weekend. Between my boat and the other two boats fishing with me we only caught 11 fish. The bad thing is my boat caught everone of them. We only had two keepers out of 11 and one of those was a barely legal fish. We ended up in the dead lakes during the rain and we caught all of those in about an hour or so. The other two boats stayed in the river and didn't fair so well.

i fished the river the river yesterday and caught 15 bass. the biggest one was about 3 pounds. but the majority of my fish came right after the rain after that it got real tough. my biggest 5 would have went somewhere around 10-11 pounds.
